The biggest Regional Rural Bank of Madhya Pradesh, Central Madhya Pradesh Gramin Bank, was dedicated to the public ,on 09-01-2013 , in a grand function at Chhindwara, by the Chief Guest Shri.P.Chidambaram, Hon’ble Union Finance Minister, and the function was presided over by Shri.Kamalnath, Hon’ble Union Minister for Urban Development and Parliamentary Affairs. Large number of public gathered at the function venue ,and higher officials from RBI and NABARD were present.
The function started with lighting of traditional lamp and rendering of Saraswathi Vandan.Shri.P.K.Gupta, Chairman, Central Madhya Pradesh Gramin Bank, gave various information about the bank and assured the public to provide all kinds of banking services .
Shri.M.V.Tanksale, CMD, Central Bank of India, highlighted the developments of banking activities in Chhindwara District and conveyed his special gratitude to Hon’ble Union Ministers. He told that Central Bank of India, through the huge network of 428 branches of its own in MP and 423 branches of its sponsored RRB, Central Madhya Pradesh Gramin Bank, was ensuring banking services to remote rural areas by proper implementation of Government Sponsored Schemes .
Thereafter, Central Madhya Pradesh Gramin Bank was dedicated to the public and the foundation stone of Central Bank of India’s RUDSETI was laid by the auspicious hands of Shri.P.Chidambaram, Hon’ble Union Finance Minister and Shri.Kamalnath, Hon’ble Union Minister for Urban Development and Parliamentary Affairs. 83 Ultra Small Branches were inaugurated in Chhindwara District . ATM Debit Card,the technology product of Central Madhya Pradesh Gramin Bank, was launched and more than 1000 Self Help Groups were credit linked in the function. The booklet on Financial Inclusion was released by the guests.
Under the CSR activities of Central Bank of India, Colour Doppler Machine was presented to District Hospital, Chhindwara, and Solar Water Heater was presented to the School of Physically Challenged, Chhindwara, by the auspicious hands of the guests.
Shri.Kamalnath, Hon’ble Union Minister for Urban Development and Parliamentary Affairs, elaborated the roles of banking in the development of the district and told that people in remote rural areas were enjoying the benefits of banking services. He appreciated the initiatives taken by Central Madhya Pradesh Gramin Bank and Central Bank of India and urged the public to make better use of the banking facilities for their own progress.
The Chief Guest of the function,Shri.P.Chidambaram , Hon’ble Union Finance Minister, emphasised the importance of banking and rural development in the economic development of the country.He reiterated that it was the right of every citizen , particularly the farmers, students and entrepreneurs,to get loan facilities from banks for their legitimate requirements and desired that banking facilities should reach every nook and corner of the farflung rural areas.
